WHAT IS MEDITATION?
Meditation is not about stopping your thoughts or having no thoughts while sitting cross-legged. Meditation is a technique whereby we are given a set of tools to enable us to witness our thoughts in order to detach ourselves from its endless chatter. Our thoughts create our world, what we create in our lives, our reactions and interpretations of everything and everyone we see around us. Meditation helps to bring clarity and focus to guide these thoughts and impulses.
In Kundalini yoga there are thousands of meditations to choose from, each with a specific result. There are meditations for releasing toxic emotions, creating more positivity and vitality, releasing fear, relieving negative thoughts and constant inner criticisms. Some meditations involve chanting, some are silent, some are physically active.
Our thoughts create our reality. In order to become masters of our own lives we need to harness our thoughts and bring clarity to guide us towards creating a life of joy, purpose and love.
